Pick a mark and type lines that use it. The keyboard shows the finger, and the Shift key when a mark needs it.
Which finger types each mark?
| Mark | Finger | How |
|---|---|---|
| Period . | Right ring finger | Reach down from L. |
| Comma , | Right middle finger | Reach down from K. |
| Question mark ? | Right pinky | Hold Shift with the left pinky and press the slash key. |
| Exclamation point ! | Left pinky | Hold Shift with the right pinky and press 1. |
| Apostrophe ' | Right pinky | Reach sideways from the semicolon key. |
| Quotes " | Right pinky | Hold Shift with the left pinky and press the apostrophe key. |
Why one mark at a time?
Three of these six marks belong to the right pinky, and three of the six need Shift. Meeting them together is a lot. Taken singly, each mark is one small reach to learn. Choose All together when the single marks feel easy.
What you type
The early choices use simple lowercase lines so the new mark is the only new thing. The later ones are sentences with capitals. Words are chosen for the keys, so some lines read a little silly:
purple reef, joy. next fish, ball. all eggs, for. net fish, run, field.
For sentences that read like stories, go on to sentence practice.

Questions
Is the punctuation practice free?
Yes. There are no ads and nothing to sign up for.
Which mark should we start with?
The period. It is one reach down for the right ring finger and needs no Shift.
Why do some lines not make sense?
The lines are built from words that only use keys a learner has met by that lesson, so the mark is the only new thing.
