Put a list in ABC order

How ABC order works
- Look at the first letter of each word. The word whose first letter comes earliest in the alphabet goes first: apple before bird.
- Same first letter? Look at the second. "star" and "sun" both start with S. T comes before U, so star goes first.
- Still the same? Keep going, one letter at a time. If one word runs out of letters first, it goes first: car before cart.
How the game works
- Read the words in the corner. A round shows up to six, out of order.
- Type the word that comes first. The road is covered, so working out which word is next is the puzzle. The letters you have typed show in the corner.
- A wrong key is a slip. After three slips in one word, the word is shown with its next key lit.
- Keep going to the last word. The card shows the whole round in ABC order.
Use your own words
Type or paste a list into the box beside the heading and press "Use these words": this week's spelling words, for example. Each round takes six of them. A word on the game's blocked list is left out. Then try the same list in spelling practice or the spelling test. ABC order is one of the ways to practice spelling words through the week.
